Left NAS Brunswick, ME. in December, 1983, and was stationed NAS Rota, Spain.

On May 6,1984, I received Christ as Savior at Bethel Baptist Church, a BIMI Military Missions Church in Rota, Spain. Pastor Chris Parker was my pastor. I learned and grew in Christ greatly under that ministry.

I assisted in teaching Sunday school classes, worked in the sound room, maintenance around the church and soul winning.

My daughter, Meghan, was born in Sept. 1985.

In December of 1986, we left Rota, Spain, under orders to USS Independence home ported for overhaul in Philadelphia Ship yard, Philadelphia, PA.  Attended Bethel Baptist Church of Philadelphia, PA.

In July, 1987, discharged from active duty and moved to Freeport, ME. Attended Grace Baptist Church in Westbrook, ME.

Joined the Army reserve. In January, 1989, re-enlisted active duty Navy. Stationed at  NAS Cecil Field, Jacksonville, FL. Attended Trinity Baptist Church and assisted in teaching Sunday School, AWANA leader and soul winning.

My second daughter, Nicole, was born in July of 1989.

In April, 1991, transferred from Jacksonville, FL. to USS George Washington (CVN-73) Norfolk, VA. Assisted and worked at Christian Serviceman’s Center Norfolk, VA. for four months. Attended Providence Baptist Church Chesapeake, VA, worked as an AWANA leader. Was out to sea most of the time. My son, Donny, was born at this time.

In July 1995 transferred to Naval Test Center, Patuxent River, MD. Attended Patuxent Baptist Church. Worked as usher, maintenance around church and soul winning.

In August of 1996, while working at a Christian youth camp, God called me to preach.  I made it public in our church.

August, 1996, started Bible College at Independent Baptist Bible College, Clinton, MD.  At Patuxent Baptist Church, worked as church treasurer for five years. Headed up our soul winning/ visitation program for eight years. In March, 1999, I was voted in, by the members of Patuxent Baptist church, as Assistant Pastor.  In May of 1999, retired from active duty as a Chief Petty Officer and began to work full time at Patuxent Baptist Church.  In November, 2001, because of church financial reasons, Pastor Conner and I decided I should seek other employment but still perform as many duties as possible as Assistant Pastor.

In November, 2001, I worked at Qualtec Inc., a government contractor. I worked there for four months. The company later laid off 1/3 of its employees. Although I was not laid off, I was called by another government contractor, DynCorp. I went for the interview and took the job.

In November, 2001, I was promoted to Inspector. God had been speaking to my heart about Military Missions for some time.

I talked it over with my wife and she agreed. She had been thinking the same thing.

We talked it over with our Pastor and asked him to pray about it also.

I needed to finish Bible college before making the move.

In January, 2004, God impressed upon my heart to Email Brother Jeff Alverson about Military Missions.

Brother Alverson explained the need of Military Missions and, at this time, there was a need to plant a church near the Mayport Naval Base, Mayport FL. He asked if we would pray about it, I said we would.

We prayed for two weeks and God gave us total peace about it. My pastor also had total peace about it.

I called and told Brother Alverson that God had given us total peace and we would do it.

As a family we surrendered and made it public, at Patuxent Baptist Church, that God has called us into Military Missions.

In February, 2004, we started part time deputation.   In March, 2004, DynCorp wanted to promote me to shop supervisor, I turned it down. I knew it would interfere with my call to Military Missions. On May 7, 2004, I graduated from Independent Baptist Bible College.

We attended BIMI candidate school in June of 2004. We went on full time deputation July 4, 2004.

Attended BIMI Church Planting School August 2004. Attended 2nd year BIMI school in June 2005

On November 28, 2005 we moved to the Mayport, FL area to plant a church (Freedom Independent Baptist Church) for activity duty, reserve, retired, veterans and their families that live in this area.
